About OZ communities
OZ communities wants to assist all Australians to make the most of their lives, and other people's lives, by getting involved in their community by joining a club or volunteering for a good cause.
Non-profit organisations can add their details to our Australian Community Groups directory.
Your organisation doesn't have to be a registered association, as long you provide a community service and are not a profit-making venture. Whether you are a stamp collecting club or an organisation advocating for the rights of a minority group, you are helping other people to enjoy or improve their life, and you are most welcome to add your group to the directory.
You don't even need to have a website, and we welcome all groups, big or small.
OZ communities also wants to assist Australian non-profit organisations with any of their online needs, by providing simple solutions.
This allows organisations to concentrate on their core interests, while providing value to members and information to possible new members.
So how did it all start?
I have been creating websites since the mid nineties, for both businesses and non-profit organisations, and I have been and still am involved in a few clubs myself.
One day I was talking to a friend who is involved in a few bushwalking clubs, about problems some clubs have with their websites, or their lack of an internet presence altogether.
Some clubs want to get a website going but don’t really know where to start, or find that having a custom website developed is just not within the budget.
Often a club or organisation will have one of its members who knows a thing or two about websites, create a site for the club, only to find that a few years later, this member moves interstate, or can no longer afford to spend any time on the club’s website. Other members then find out they don’t really know how to update the site or fix any problems as they arise.
So we thought and talked about how we could help these organisations and what kind of options they were looking for.
And that is how this site started. We have included what we consider the most user-friendly and best value options which are available, and where we could not find a readily and well-supported product, we have developed our own.
So have a look through the options available for your site, and create your own site by combining the options most suitable for your organisation.
Please contact us or visit our forum if you have any ideas about how we can improve our site and options for your organisation.
Cheers
John
